Tune how strongly the selected colors are removed. Start with a moderate tolerance, then increase it only when background pixels remain.

What this tool does

  1. 1.This tool makes solid backgrounds or specific selected colors transparent. It is suitable for cleaning images with black, white, magenta, or green backgrounds.
  2. 2.You can pick colors from the image with the eyedropper, add them to the removal list, process multiple images at once, and download the results as a ZIP.
  3. 3.Automatic removal for complex photo backgrounds is not currently provided. All processing happens in your browser, and images are not stored on a server.

How to use

  1. 1.Upload one or more images.
  2. 2.Enter the background color manually, or click the image and pick it with the built-in eyedropper.
  3. 3.Adjust tolerance and press the image processing button.
  4. 4.Download each PNG result individually or download all results as a ZIP.

Option guide

  1. 1.Tolerance decides how similar a pixel can be to the selected colors before it is removed.
  2. 2.Remove only background connected to image edges is useful when similar colors inside a character should be preserved.
  3. 3.Clean color fringe removes leftover edge color after transparent pixels are created.

Notes

  1. 1.This is not an automatic AI photo background remover. It removes solid colors or colors you select with HEX or the eyedropper.
  2. 2.If tolerance is too high, colors inside the character or object may disappear.
  3. 3.JPG images can contain compression noise, so they may need slightly higher tolerance than PNG images.
  4. 4.All processing happens in your browser. Images are not uploaded to or stored on a server.

Recommended settings

  1. 1.Black background: tolerance 12-30
  2. 2.White background: tolerance 10-25
  3. 3.Magenta or green background: tolerance 20-50
  4. 4.Edge-connected background removal is recommended for character images.

FAQ

Why is output always PNG?

PNG supports transparency reliably across browsers.

When should I use edge-only removal?

Use it when the background touches the image border but similar colors inside the subject should remain.
